Trinidad, as part of the Eastern Venezuela (Orinoco) Basin, is a proven oil & gas region with a long history of exploration and production.
Since the first commercial oil was drilled in 1866, Trinidad has produced over 3.7 billion barrels of oil and condensate and 5.5 billion BOE (barrels of oil equivalent) of natural gas. Trinidad has a well-developed LNG and petrochemical industry that currently consumes approximately 3.4 Bcf of gas per day. In addition, Trinidad currently produces approximately 65,000 barrels of oil per day, most of which is delivered to a local refinery owned by Petrotrin, Trinidad’s state-owned oil & gas company.
Trinidad, along with the greater Caribbean region, is an under-explored area with significant potential.
